Shan Moyers Lead Pastor

Picture
Family
Jen and I were married in 1997. In 2004 we moved to Colorado and immediately fell in love with the area and the people. God has blessed us with four children: Grace, Maddie, Jake and Luke. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, reading and playing basketball.

Education and Employment
I graduated from Cascade College in Portland, OR. Before joining the team at RMCC, I served as a Student Pastor, Small Groups Pastor, Campus Pastor and Executive Pastor. These opportunities were critical in shaping my heart for the church and my desire to lead. I have always believed that God has been preparing me to lead a local church to impact its community and world. In the summer of 2012 that dream became a reality here at RMCC. I joined the staff in September and transitioned to the Lead Pastor role in February of 2013. My passion is to inspire people to know Jesus and motivate them to love their world like he does.

Favorite Scripture
"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes..." Romans 1:16

History with RMCC
I have attended RMCC since 1991. Over the years I’ve been blessed to be involved in men’s Bible study groups, Upward Basketball, Rush Hour and Master’s Ministry. Susie and I have both led and been members of couples’ small groups since 1995.

Education & Employment
I graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a B.A. in Art. . . . not bad for being color blind! I’ve been a sales representative at DeLine Box & Display in Denver since 1991 and am serving as their National Graphic Packaging Sales Rep., working in both the U.S. and Mexico. I love working with people and the relationships that result!

Family
I married my wonderful wife, Susie, in 1993. My daughter, Anna, attends Rocky Mountain Christian Academy. My son    Jay graduated from RMCA and is now attending Silver Creek High School. My oldest son, Andrew, graduated from Silver Creek H.S. and is currently serving in the Air Force.

Favorite Scripture
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

Personal Testimony
I was raised in a wonderful Christian home and had Godly values instilled in me from a young age. Like so many, I drifted from my faith in college succumbing to prevalent secular humanism teaching. I came back to faith through Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (CA), specifically due to their contemporary Christian music ministry. I was baptized in the Pacific Ocean in 1985 and have been following Christ since that time.

History With RMCC
My wife and I started attending RMCC in December, 1997 after Alice was born. Liz and I were baptized at RMCC and since coming to RMCC our family has been involved in many programs, including Men’s Connection, MOPS, Pre-school, RMCA, the Upward Cheerleading and Basketball programs and connecting with others in the church through a small group.

Education and Employment
I grew up in Boulder, Colorado and graduated from Boulder High School in 1985. I received a B.A. in Business Administration from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska in 1990. Since the race’s founding in 1979 I have been involved as a volunteer, participant and employee of the BolderBOULDER (some years, all three) and I currently serve as the Race Director.

Family
I have been married to Liz since 1993. We have three very active and involved children. Alice and Holly both  enjoy gymnastics, soccer, running, swimming and biking. They are both involved in Rush Hour Crew at RMCC. Ross plays basketball, soccer and enjoys running.

Favorite Scripture
“But they that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

History with RMCC
Betsy and I moved down from Estes Park with our two children in 2004. We both have a history with RMCC (which we would be happy to share with you) and after one visit we were convinced that this is where we wanted our church home to be. The emphasis we saw on the children was the strongest reason for us. Betsy and I love to connect and grow together with others at “Rocky”.  Betsy is also blessed to be a 4th grade teacher at Rocky Mountain Christian Academy.

Education and Employment
I received my bachelor degree in Sport Management from Western Carolina University. I am currently in sales at Avnet, Inc. Even though the company has been through numerous acquisitions, I have worked with the company since 1998.

Family
Our oldest daughter, Morgan, was born in August of 2000. Morgan is very active in softball, volleyball and snow skiing.  She attends Rocky Mountain Christian Academy.  Morgan gave her life to Christ at the age of 8 and we are very proud of her. Our other daughter, Lucy, was born in February of 2004. Lucy enjoys her friends, and is very active with soccer. Lucy also attends Rocky Mountain Christian Academy and gave her life to Christ at the age of 8.

Favorite Scripture
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Personal Testimony
I gave my life to Jesus Christ when I was 10 years old. I had the privilege of being raised by two wonderful parents and having been raised in the support of the Christian church my whole life.

I graduated from the University of South Dakota with a major in computer science and a minor in math and music, with an emphasis in business. I am currently employed at Seagate Technologies in the Engineering Applications IT Dept.

Family
Diane and I married on March 18, 1989. We have two sons: Christopher and Michael.

Favorite Scripture
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline". (2 Timothy 1:7)

Personal Testimony
I was raised in a loving Christian home. Growing up, Christian was a part of my life. In my teen years, I became aware of the fact that Christianity was a relationship and that I needed to choose to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Due to many different circumstances, I wasn't baptized until we started RMCC. i chose to be baptized in obedience to God's calling and to be an example for my family. I know that God is continually challenging me to grow in my faith through His Word, family, friends and the church.

Favorite Scripture -
Ephesians 2:8-10  "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

History with RMCC -
When we moved to Colorado in 2000 we stayed in a hotel near Niwot while house hunting. We passed by RMCC numerous times during the weekend and then wrote to the church before moving to learn more about its statement of faith and various programs.
