Pastors and Directors

Alan Ahlgrim, Lead Pastor

History With RMCC
Over 24 years ago, Linda and I moved to Longmont with our three children to begin RMCC. It’s been the most fullling ministry we’ve ever been part of, and it has blessed us with the best friends we’ve ever had. We happily connect with a couples’ small group and take great delight in the growth of every dimension of our church family. (By the way, Linda served for over 17 years as the Director of Children’s Ministries at RMCC and just transitioned to a new position as Director of Involvement.)

Education and Employment

I have degrees from Milligan College, B.A.; Southern Baptist the theological Seminary, Master of Divinity; and Fuller Theolgical Seminary, Doctor of Ministry. I love serving as the Lead Pastor of RMCC and I hope to do so for many years.

Vision and Expectations
I’m especially excited about the launch of our new campus in Frederick as we celebrate the unfolding of “Double Vision” – one vision, one eldership, one staff, multiple locations.

Family

Our oldest daughter Jennifer and her husband are active at Lifebridge Christian Church where Drew serves on staff—their children Alicia and David are happily enrolled in Rocky Mountain Christian Academy. Our son Joel and his wife Nicole are in Japan, where Joel serves with the U.S. Navy as a family physician. They have one son, Andrew. Our youngest daughter Kristin recently returned from a our-year teaching position in Taiwan, now serves on the Family Ministry staff at RMCC and was married in May to RMCC member, Dave Stacey.

Hobbies
I enjoy reading, gardening, walking, exercising, hiking, snowshoeing and spending time in the mountains with our family.

Favorite Scripture
“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” (2 Peter 1:3)

Cris Crisfield, Executive Pastor Ministries & Pastoral Care

Family
I am happily single by calling. My mother lives in the area, as well as my brother and his family. I have two sisters on the East Coast.

Hobbies
My hobbies are reading, walking, bird watching and enjoying God’s creation.

Favorite Scripture
“Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I
desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is
the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
(Psalm 73:25-26)

Personal Testimony
Raised in a Christian home, I drifted away from the faith
after high school. After 13 years of wandering, I returned
to the faith at age 31 and began to discover the difference
between calling myself a Christian and living for Christ.
This led to an understanding of my calling to ministry, a
journey I continue to this day.

History With RMCC
I first attended RMCC in May of 1988, looking for a home
church. I joined my third Sunday, never imagining I would
be anything other than a member of the congregation. A
short-term mission trip to Peru convinced me that God
had bigger plans for me than I had for myself! I left my
career in business and interned at RMCC while I finished
my bachelor’s degree. From there I went to seminary,
continuing to intern whenever I was back in Colorado.
After seminary, I spent a year on staff while I prepared
for mission service. I served in Brazil from 1995 to 1999
in the slums of Campinas, working mostly with drug
addicts. I retuned to staff in 1999.

Education and Employment
My education is as follows: B.A. from Colorado Christian
University in 1991, and M.Div. from Emmanuel School
of Religion in 1994. I have worked as a janitor, motel desk
clerk, bank teller, cab dispatcher, tree planter, bouncer,
programmer, systems analyst, missionary and pastor.

Vision and Expectations
Three words describe my calling, which shapes my vision and
my expectations: I am called to ministry, mentor and write.

Don Bondeson, Executive Pastor of Discpleship & Family Ministry

Family
My wife Renee also works at RMCC in the Accounting Department. We have three sons. Our eldest is married and in the Navy where he is a nuclear technician. Our middle son graduated from Colorado School of Mines and is a software engineer. Our youngest son graduated from the University of Colorado and is working on his master’s degree. He is also a softwware engineer.

Hobbies
I enjoy woodworking, skiing and hiking.

Favorite Scripture
“If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31b)

Personal Testimony
I grew up in a Christ-filled home, where as a family we
worshipped and served in the church. I “truly” accepted
Christ at age 13 and was baptized as an adult at RMCC.

History With RMCC
My wife Renee and I came to RMCC in 2002. We sang in
the choir and started the Stephen Ministry program. In
January 2006, I was contracted by RMCC to coordinate
the Capital Campaign. In May 2006, I came on staff as a
full-time Discipleship Pastor.

Education and Employment
Prior to RMCC, I worked for over 18 years in the hightech
industry in upper-level sales and marketing. Renee
and I attended Bemidji State University, majoring in
business. I am currently attending Colorado theological
Seminary and working on my master’s degree in clinical
pastoral counseling.

Vision and Expectations
It is exciting to see what God has done in the last 24 years at
RMCC. I am confident, the next 24 years will be even more
exciting in glorifying God.

Darrell Hammond, Executive Pastor HR/Involvement, Communications, Music & Arts

Family
I have been married for 24 years and have a wonderful family, which includes a dynamic spouse and five extraordinary children.

Hobbies
I enjoy spending time with family, basketball (playing, coaching, watching), fishing and serving organizations of all sizes through my Organizational Development Consulting Practice.

Favorite Scripture
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him,
and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy . . .” (Psalm 28:7a)

Personal Testimony
In college, I realized that I had a void in my life and that
nothing I sought out seemed to make a difference. I
accepted Jesus after realizing that He is who He said He
is—God’s son—and that He had the answers and so
much more. My life has never been the same and my
quest for answers to my purpose ended on the day I
asked Him to be my Savior and Lord.

History With RMCC
Our family started attending RMCC almost seven years
ago. First, I volunteered in Master’s Ministry, then I
volunteered my Leadership Coaching and Human
Resource skills to RMCC staff. Eventually, I was asked to
be an elder and staff member in charge of HR and
Involvement/Volunteers. My role expanded over the years
to include Site Services/ Facilities, Safety, Master’s
Ministry, Communications, Music, Arts, Rush Hour and
Tech Ministries.

Education and Employment
I have a bachelor’s degree in business management. I am a
Certified Master Trainer and Leadership Coach with over
25 years of Human Resources and Organizational
Development experiences in a wide variety of organizations,
including Fortune 500 companies.

Vision and Expectations
My efforts revolve around getting leadership, staff and
volunteers all “pointed” in the same direction—focused
on the same goals and seeing success through God‘s eyes.

Rick Thielen, Executive Pastor of Operations

Family
I married my wife Judy 36 years ago. I have a daughter, Natalie, and a son, Todd, who is married to Stephanie, the parents of our granddaughter, Sarah.

Hobbies
I enjoy landscaping, reading, camping and four-wheeling and spending time with family.

Favorite Scripture
“The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests
with the Lord.” (Proverbs 21:31)

“Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous
life.” (Proverbs 16:31)

Personal Testimony
As a teenager, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and
was baptized in Clinton, Iowa. I have been honored to
serve Christ as a volunteer in Clinton, Iowa; Bloomington,
Illinois; Atlanta, Illinois; Fayetteville, North Carolina; and
Niwot, Colorado. I, absolutely and unequivocally, believe
that Jesus is Lord; and I am humbled to be a part of the
staff at RMCC.

History With RMCC
I have been a part of RMCC since 1998, starting as a member active in choir and orchestra. I came on staff June, 2001, as the Business Administrator. In early 2007, I became Executive Pastor, Operations.

Education and Employment
I attended Lincoln Christian College, Lincoln College
and Cornell University. I spent over 30 years in retail,
working in the Midwest, on the East Coast and finally in
Colorado and the western states. My responsibilities
included all day-to-day retail operations, locating new
retail sites, overseeing remodel/expansion of existing
stores and new construction with major supermarket
chains and an office supply chain.

Vision and Expectations
My vision and expectation is to support the Lead Pastor,
Executive Pastors, and elders by using the gifts God has
given me. I also desire to lead with integrity, in-line with
God’s blessing.

Ed McQueen, Pastor of Pastoral Care (Seniors, Men, Prayer, Premarital, Weddings, Funerals)

Ed McQueen is the "elder" on staff, by age (gray hair). The McQueens are charter members of RMCC. He's a graduate of Platte Valley Bible College and the University of Northern Colorado. He is a self-described "bibliophile," and his bookshelves prove it. One of Ed's responsibilities is premarital preparation, working with couples who are to be married at RMCC. Ed's claim to fame is being June's husband and the grandfather of six. The McQueen's have three grown children, one of which is active at RMCC by serving in the children's ministy along with his wife.

Matt Nickoson, Frederick Campus Pastor & Student Ministry Pastor

Matt Nickoson is from Ohio and a diehard fan of the Buckeyes. He and his wife Rachael have been at RMCC since 1999, after graduating from Cincinnati Bible College. Matt often says, "I have the best job in the world," and he means it! Outside of RMCC, Matt loves to play guitar, all kinds of sports and video games. He also collects sports cards (which still hasn't improved his basketball shot). He has two dogs, Magellan and Ladybug. Matt would like to educate everyone on the evils of Oregon Duck adoration. The Ohio State Buckeyes will change your life, like the Alpacas.

Emanuel Barr, Music & Arts Pastor

Emanuel is a native of Chicago, where he served at the Director of AMS (Arts, Media and Sports) ministry in the Chicago Church of Chirst for twelve years. He resigned from this position to pursue a career in sales, but God had different plans. After eighteen months out of the ministry, a friend from RMCC told him about their need for a Music and Arts Pastor. Emanuel interviewed and asked God to open a door if it was His will. After several signs and wonders, like Abraham, he moved his family to "God's country" in faith and never looked back. Emanuel is very grateful to serve the RMCC family with the gifts God has given him. His wife, Rhonda and two sons, Joshua and Caleb, are also so excited to be part of the RMC family!

Judy Miller, Executive Assistant to the Lead Pastor

Judy, one of the charter members of RMCC, has been a part of the office staff since the church's beginning in 1984. She serves as Executive Assistant, assisting the Lead Pastor and helping with various business aspects of the church. If you have questions about Rocky Mountain and you're not sure whom to ask, check with Judy. Because of her long history with the church, she possesses a wealth of helpful information; and she'd be delighted to assist you.

In addition to the tremendous enjoyment of her ministry (especially seeing a passion for God ignited in the hearts of people), on the personal front she enjoys reading, fishing, traveling, camping and, most of all, spending time with her family. She and her husband have three grown children and eight amazingly wonderful grandchildren. Just ask her!

Byron Dudrey, Instrumental Music Pastor

Byron moved to Colorado in 1990 to go to grad school for a "couple of years" and never left. He has been involved in the Denver/Boulder music scene, playing classical, jazz, rock and even some country over the past 15 years. He received his MM in double bass performance from CU Boulder, which led him to pursue a career in music ministry. Believing that RMCC is where God has called him to serve, Byron is humbled to be serving the Lord here at RMCC. Byron's wife (Marie) is also on staff at RMCC, and his three children command his attention when he is away from work.

Linda Ahlgrim, Director of Involvement

Linda Ahlgrim was part of the "family package" when RMCC began! After graduation from Milligan College, Linda was a first grade teacher for four years before taking time to raise a family. Now she enjoys the payback...three wonderful grandchildren! After directing RMCC's children's ministry for seventeen years, Linda now works to help church members find joy and fulfillment in service both within the church and the community. Part of that responsibility includes directing our partnership with Indian Peaks Elementary School in Longmont.
